Mottled Black

S'mores is a big, BIG boy and will help bring red eyed gerbils to our clan. S'mores was born right here at WWCO and is the sweetest thing ever. Excited to see what he brings to our lines!

Agouti out of WWCO's Guinea Pig and WWCO's Butters.

Brownie is a long awaited girl who has the most amazing tail tuft! She will help bring red eyed gerbils and more dilute gerbils to our lines!

WWCO's Fox

Agouti

Fox is a sweet guy with a bent up tail. His tail got kinked during an introduction that failed, but that doesn't stop him. If his tail had not been injured, he'd be the PERFECT show specimen! I can't wait to see that fluffy tail get passed along to his offspring.

Dilute Slate

This handsome fellow may look like a blue, but he is actually a Dilute Slate! He was named by my son who happens to love Pizza and wanted to continue on with our “food names”. He came from Gerbil Genesis in Ohio and as of Feb. 2023 has been paired with Pie…so we have Pizza Pie pups on the way and are the start of a new blood line!

Silver Nutmeg

All the way from Ohio out of Gerbil Genesis, this guy is STUNNING. His fur is so plush and pretty and his tail tuft is absolutely magnificent. I cannot wait to start working with him towards producing more silver nutmegs.

Agouti

While she may appear “ordinary”, this girl is hiding some secrets! Apple Pie, or Pie for short, is a heavy recessive carrying agouti who will bring much excitement to our breeding program. With her, we will finally be able to produce gray agouti! She came all the way from Gerbil Genesis in Ohio.

Red Eyed Schimmel

What can we say other than this girl is absolutely magnificent! It will be a while before we are able to produce our own Schimmels and Red Eyed Schimmels, but the future is super exciting for this girl and the rare genes she is providing. This stunning girl came from Fen’Halla Mousery in Texas.

This shy but pretty girl came from Texas and Fen’Hall Mousery. We have some work to do with her before she will be considered for breeding, but with time and patience we think she will turn out perfectly. Her future mate will be “Fox” and they will help continue our original lines.

OUR PROMISE TO BREED ETHICALLY

We will not overbreed our animals!

We separate our males and females after a few litters to allow the mother time to rest and heal. We believe breeding gerbils back to back, without meaningful breaks, is unethical and cruel. After a 2-3 month break, we spit-cage introduce pairs back together for another 2-3 litters before breaking again. Momma is always kept with a female pup and dad usually moves over to help make another litter.

For this reason you will often see one of our males paired with more than one female (NOT AT THE SAME TIME)! We rotate breeding pairs to allow for heathy mommas which means heathy babies! This also allows for us to develop stronger breeding lines ensuring strong genes are passed down.
